Empowering Teachers and Students through Digital Badges for a Brighter Future
Boosting Skills. Recognising Growth.
Project Reference: 2024-1-RS01-KA210-SCH-000257157
About the Project
Our Goals
Developing a system for continuous monitoring, support, and documentation of dispositions for lifelong learning in children aged 6 to 10. In addition, our work is focused on supporting the development of dispositions for lifelong learning in children/students of our partner institutions.
Our Approach
The “BOOST BADGES” project, affirmation badges, represents an initiative for innovation in education and for further strengthening the connection between preschool and primary levels of education. Through a carefully designed system of supporting and documenting dispositions for lifelong learning, we enable children to affirm their strengths in learning, while educators and teachers can jointly and continuously support children’s learning.
Award a Badge!
Celebrate student achievements by awarding digital badges for progress in sustainability, digital skills, and key competences. Encourage growth, boost motivation, and make learning visible through meaningful recognition.
Project Results
In order to document children’s learning, the project uses the “Learning Story” method, whose structure we have developed and will continue to improve throughout the project.
– Learning Stories are a way to show how children learn and develop through various activities. They include situations in which a child: solves problems, collaborates with peers and adults, explores, learns new things, and shows joy and commitment to learning.
– Educators and teachers, collaboration with children, create Learning Stories that reflect the dispositions for learning the child is developing. Each Learning Story contains a recommendation from the educator/teacher for the further development of the identified learning disposition.
– Depending on the identified disposition, the child receives a personalised badge whose design visually communicates the meaning of the disposition and affirms it for the child and their peers (group/class). The badge is awarded in both digital and physical form.
