“I’ll start the dance and you can follow me.” - u98-Initiative-Reflection

As a class, we set out to create a class dance, which required collaboration, creativity, and
confidence. Initially, many of the children felt shy and unsure about how to begin. Recognising
this, M took the initiative by confidently starting the dance and suggesting movements, which
helped generate ideas for the group. M also supported her peers by placing the children in
appropriate positions, encouraging participation, and helping the class negotiate how the dance
would be organised. Throughout the process, the children tested ideas in a real situation, reevaluated movements, and explored alternative actions to improve the overall performance. With
M’s leadership and the class’s growing confidence, the children worked together to develop and
refine the dance, demonstrating strong initiative, cooperation, and engagement in a shared
